Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage

This treatment aims at the deep tissue structure of the muscle and fascia tissue, Deep tissue massage uses many of the same movements and techniques as the Swedish massage with generally deeper pressure. Deep tissue is also a more focused type of massage, as the therapist works to release chronic muscle tension or knots in specific areas. Communication is kept open to make sure that the appropriate amount of pressure is used.

Deep tissue massage helps to break up and eliminate scar tissue. Deep tissue massage usually focuses on more specific areas and may cause some soreness during or right after the massage. However, if the massage is done correctly you should feel better than ever within a day or two.

A deep-tissue massage also helps loosen muscle tissues, release toxins from muscles and get blood and oxygen circulating properly. Because many toxins are released, it's important to drink plenty of water after a deep-tissue session to help eliminate these toxins from the body.
